Voice of America Shortwave Radio Towers Demolished
Many amateur radio operators became interested in radio by listening to shortwave radio broadcasts from broadcasting power houses like the Voice of America, Radio Moscow, Radio Havana Cuba and others. Watch the video above to view a controlled demolition of a large array comprised of 48 shortwave radio antennas at the VOA’s former broadcasting facility in North Carolina. Nostalgic to watch and a bit sad as we see shortwave usage becoming less and less.
