Camp Jordan’s new Picnic Pavilion will be the site of ARRL Field Day 2017.  It’s a great facility and the City of East Ridge (Tennessee) Parks & Recreation Department has been great to work with in making this event happen.  Lot’s of wide open spaces and easy access to Interstate 75 at Exit 1 (TN/GA).

  • Lots of picnic tables and walkaround space under roof.
  • A great place for a cookout and picnic.
  • Woodburning fireplace for those that are cold in late June. 🙂
  • Restrooms located in the pavilion.
  • Ceiling fans inside the pavilion over picnic tables.
  • RV-type power poles with multiple RV-type AC receptacle are hot and available for our use.  Each outlet is 30A.
  • Two standard 110vac outlets available on each side of the fireplace.
  • Kitchen counter with faucet & sink in pavilion.
  • Parking available for FD participants or attendees with RVs (must be self-contained).
  • 24 hour operation has been approved for the event.
  • Pavilion is oriented in a basic east/west direction.  Picnic table side is on east.  Late afternoon (low angle) sun is blocked on west side by fireplace/restroom walls.
  • Lots of open space available in graveled RV lot south/west side or in open grassy areas on north side of pavilion.
  • After dark lighting available on utility poles which may also be used to attach antenna wire runs.
  • Water spigots available near RV power poles.
  • Anyone attending FD may use other facilities at Camp Jordan so it can be more of a family affair.
  • A new shopping mall area was announced today “Jordan Crossing” which will be along each side of the road into the park behind Bass Pro.  So it will be a great place to publicize Amateur Radio.
  • The new redesigned Exit 1 will route traffic directly into the park.
