APRS Presentation Part 2 at Hamfest Chattanooga 2022
Kenny Witt, KC4OJS and Bill Lewis, KM4KMO, are two of our local, homegrown experts on APRS and Winlink. We were fortunate to have them present a forum on APRS at Hamfest Chattanooga 2022.
The forum drew an overflow crowd so they were kind enough to repeat it later in the day. It’s probably true that they’ve forgotten more about APRS than most of the rest of us know about it. APRS is a wonderful example of how Amateur Radio brings technology to the table that is not readily available to others.
The Chattanooga and surrounding areas are well-populated with APRS & Winlink Gateways thanks to the learning opportunities provided by Kenny & Bill. The willingness of ham radio operators to freely provide equipment and know-how for this technology is a tribute to the selfless nature of hams stepping up to make APRS & Winlink available.
